In just the first couple of months of 2023, there has been an explosion of AI and Industry 5.0 products in the market. We are seeing applications for almost all use case - but where do they sit within the unique mining industry?

Concepts like AI and Digital Twins are confusing at the best of times, combine that with the complex nature of mining and the recent tech explosion - and "right advice" can feel convoluted if not non-existent at times.

In this video we sit down with Kabir, a long time digital product and startup expert who now leads the internal product development team at mining giant, BHP. Kabir has an extremely unique and valuable perspective as he combines his time in the fast pace tech startup world, along side the large, complex and board nature that is mining to tackle this question.

Kabir is an experienced management & technology leader with over 15+ years of experience in management consulting and energy & resources sector.

With tertiary qualifications in Masters of Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School and Bachelors in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Sydney, Kabir has a strong understanding of, and demonstrated capability in project financing, development, transitioning and implementation in complex business environments.

Kabir’s recent experience has been driving and embedding sustainable technology change in the energy and resources sector. As an advocate of data driven decision making, Kabir has been assisting Listed Public entities embark on their digital and technology transformation, bank and realise measurable uplift in safety and asset performance. Kabir is passionate about sustainable change and about being able to quantify results and outcomes in clear measurable terms. Previously, he was working at The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) in the development of nascent and near commercial renewable technology projects.
